My design for this production of Our Town by Thornton Wilder was meant to be simple, but lovely. With so little scenery onstage, as the script describes, it is important to still transport the audience into the story. I did this by using bold colors and isolating the action of the show. I think this show has a lot to say about the importance of performance art in describing the struggles of life. For this reason, I wanted the show to feel as magical as the theatre feels to me.
